Biography

The author of this book is Woody Edmiston, a career law enforcement professional. He has been a police executive in two communities, holds Master’s status with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and a Master’s Degree from Southwest Texas State University. He has an undergraduate degree from Dallas Baptist University in Social Work and Business marketing. He has been active in the Boy Scouts of America and served on Youth Committee’s in several churches.

Following the adoption of his two children he became an advocate of “older child” adoption for persons who have already raised children. Mr. Edmiston is now employed full-time in adoption services. He teaches certification courses for foster parents.

The messages in the book are drawn from personal experiences and where possible, references have been made to statistical or scientific work that supports the anecdotal evidence.

Interests

I'm always interested in anything that has to do with parenting adolescent children. Fishing and scouting are two of my real passions. Computing and networking are new passions.
